REPORT / ANNOUNCE
Chennai, March 08, 2009: Buoyed by the grand success of last year’s racing event, which has become the high-point of the Indian racing calendar, Yamaha kickstarted this year’s Motor Sports Season by organizing YZF-R15 Championship-Season 2009 at Irungattukottai Race Circuit on March 08,2009.
Yamaha has been organizing this Championship since 2008, with the aim to take racing culture to new heights as also to keep the biking enthusiasts adrenaline pumping. Motor Sports has always been an important part of Yamaha’s corporate culture since the company’s founding and a way of expressing the ‘spirit of challenge’ that it values so highly. Yamaha plans to continue the Motorsports Season by organizing R15 races all around the year.
In the new season of YZF-R15 Racing championship people were participated not only from India but also from Nepal Yamaha presents an special honors to participants from Nepal.
In the class B professional category, Shrishandarajah from Tamilnadu took 1st place , while vivek pillai & Raj kumar from Tamilnadu secured 1st & 2nd runner up position respectively.
For the class C novice category A. Murlitharan from Tamilnadu got the 1st prize while Arun J Pillai from Tamilnadu & Mohd. Farook from Andhra Pradesh bestowed the 2nd & 3rd prizes.
R. Kartik from Tamilnadu secured 1st place in the beginner class while Vikram from Tamilnadu and Vinod Asharia from Karnataka secured 2nd & 3rd place respectively.
In the State champions where riders participated from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala & from Tamilnadu Vivek Pillai from Tamil Nadu, Joel Joseph from Karnataka, Dito John from Kerala & Mohd Farook from Andhra Pradesh were honored the state champion .
