Opening up tomorrow’s horizons, one step at a time

Contributing to the future with new technologies is another of Yamaha’s important roles. In addition to our long years of research and development to deal with the environmental issue of reducing CO2 emissions through engineering advancements, we have also pursued research in the area of biotechnology that has produced new methods for absorbing CO2 by utilizing the photosynthetic function of plants. These technologies have already been used for the mass production of rare algae for use as feed in aquaculture, and now development is underway in the commercialization of a human food supplement derived from algae cultured in this way. Also, we are participating in the research and development of advanced safety systems under the Ministry of Transportation’s ASV (Advanced Safety Vehicle) program, in the fields of accident prevention (active) and accident damage minimization (passive) safety technologies. Out of our wish to help enrich the societies of the future and make tomorrow’s lifestyles more convenient, Yamaha will continue to refine and develop its cutting-edge technologies and take on new challenges.
