The role of the front fork of a motorcycle is to contribute to the overall rigidity of the chassis and to provide a shock-absorbing function. On the FZ16, the relative positions of the parts of the front assembly have been optimized to let the rider enjoy a natural steering feeling. Also, the large 41 mm diameter inner tubes have a larger contact surface area with the outer tubes than conventional thinner tubes, which serves to reduce resistance for smoother functioning. Also the longer 130mm cushion stroke provides greater shock-absorbing capacity.
